TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND.
I'm originally from Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and went to college at Richard Bland, in Petersburg, VA. I have over 18 years of experience in the Distribution, Supply Chain, e-commerce arena. I'm married and my wife Phyllis and I have 4 children and we have been blessed with 4 grand children. I'm an avid boater and fisherman in my spare time. I currently work out of AutoPower's Midwest Office in Litchfield, IL, which is where I live and travel from to cover my sales territory.
WHAT DOES YOUR WORK ENTAIL?
That easy for me.. sales, sales, sales. I am very glad to be affiliated with a company of AutoPower's reputation. They are firmly planted in the Aftermarket. Most distributors do not realize how important this dedication to an industry is to them and their business. All of AutoPower's programs and new software efforts go toward solving the business problems in our industry.
WHAT FIRST ATTRACTED YOU TO AUTOPOWER?
I would say AutoPower's dedication to the distribution aftermarket. I wanted to join a company that was a full service house, offering: Web Sites, Inventory control, Electronic Purchasing, Signature Capture, Service Shop, Wireless options, Accounting Suite, etc and all seamlessly integrated. Distributors can get into our system and not worry about out growing the software. AutoPower is the only company that I am aware of in this industry that is offering On-Line-Analytical-Processing, a computing tool that is usually reserved for Fortune 1000 size companies. AutoPower is ready whenever the distributors business is ready to take the next step.
WHAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT AUTOPOWER ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
Helping customers reduce overhead and at the same time learn to use new technology to solve problems and make them more money. Modern computer equipment has gone down in price significantly over the years, now the moneys that are spent for business systems can be applied for solution software and services, to match the new found powerful inexpensive hardware, the result of which are dramatic in the quality of conveniences available today.
TELL ME ABOUT AN EVENT, DECISION, OR PROJECT THAT ILLUSTRATES THE ESSENCE OF THE AUTOPOWER ORGANIZATION.
During my early days here I was surprised with a slight heart attack, the reaction from the AutoPower family was wonderful. I was urged not to push too hard for recovery but take my time and recover at my own pace. The team support was wonderful. Until something like this happens to you, you just do not realize how important the small kindness, thoughts, words and deeds are.
